This study visit not only strengthened collaborative bonds but also propelled DigiVET towards its goal of reshaping vocational education in the digital era. Stay tuned for more updates on the project’s transformative journey.

The latest milestone in the ‘Digital Transformation of Curricula for Vocational High Schools in Electrical Engineering and Electronics – DigiVET’ project unfolded during a vibrant study visit held from June 14th to 17th, 2023. Hosted by the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland, the event aimed to showcase the institution’s capacity in supporting teachers in crafting training materials for electrical and electronic students from vocational schools.

Teachers from OAMTAL, Tallinna Polu Technikum, and Zespol Szkol Technicznych, along with representatives from EDI and EFTA, actively participated in the four-day event.

Participants explored cutting-edge labs at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Technological Engineering. Labs showcased robotics, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), mechatronics, superconductivity, and power electronics, complemented by live demonstrations of selected exercises.

The visit to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering provided a deep dive into labs dedicated to the automation of industrial processes. A highlight was the lab showcasing various types of sensors, including electrical sensors for detecting signals in industrial processes.

In tandem with the study visit, an administrative meeting facilitated discussions on project progress, upcoming activities, and the overall project timeline.
